- AREAS VISITED: LAKE NAIVASHA
The boat safari on Lake Naivasha offers a unique wildlife experience. It is a freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley and is northwest of Nairobi, just outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County. The lake is surrounded by feathery papyrus, marshy lagoons and grassy shores where distorted flocks of graceful flamingos and pink pelicans settle on the water. It’s one of the few places in Kenya where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, water-bucks, impalas and countless bird species.
LAKE NAIVASHA DAY TOUR ITINERARY
LAKE NAIVASHA DAY TOUR
We will collect you from your hotel at 06h30 for a road transfer to Lake Naivasha. En route, you will see a spectacular part of the corridor of the Great Rift Valley. On arrival at Lake Naivasha, we will do a one-hour boat trip and visit Crescent island. The lake and its forests also delight visitors with a rich display of birdlife. Keep an eye out for woodpeckers, cuckoos, shrikes and raptors such as hawks and the African fish eagle. The nearby papyrus swamps host jacanas, herons and kingfishers. We will also see hippos and wildlife grazing at the shore of the lake. You will be accompanied by a local tour guide who is an expert on avifauna, wildlife and walking safaris. After the boat safari, we will be treated to a hot lunch at one of the nearby lodges located on the lakeshore. Late afternoon we return to Nairobi and we will be back at around 19h00.
